How Long Does A Domain Name Transfer Take?

Transferring a domain name is a simple procedure. Once you've completed a few procedures (such as ensuring the domain is unlocked, for example), the registrars will handle the remainder of the process.

You can finish your portion of the transfer process in a single sitting (which we recommend for security reasons) It takes no more than an hour or two, and that's being generous. The registrars then complete their sections of the transfer, which can take up to 5-7 business days.

What am I going to need to transfer a domain name?

To ensure a successful domain name transfer, make sure the following four conditions are met:

· The domain(s) in question must be active and registered with another registrar.

· The domain(s) must be unlocked and have been registered for at least 60 days.

· The administrative contact and domain registrant information must be current.

· You have your transfer authorization, also known as an EPP code, from the registrar you're leaving.

Is moving a domain name going to change my personalized email address?

Moving your domain name does not need relocating your email hosting.

Are you hosting your email with a third party? If this is the case, moving a domain name should have no effect. During the transfer procedure, web hosting companies in Bangalore does not modify the name servers for your domain.

If your custom email address is hosted by your domain provider, a transfer may have an impact on you. To avoid this, while transferring your domain, be sure to transfer your email account's MX records to your new registrar. This will verify that your email account is linked to your domain name. You will, however, continue to control your email through your original provider.
